Hello, my name is Jennifer Patterson, and I’m one of the Virtual Assistants here at Therapy Practice Solutions.
I live near Pinehurst, North Carolina, with my husband of over 30 years and our two dogs and two cats. We settled in North Carolina about 20 years ago after raising our two daughters, and it has been home ever since.
I bring over 25 years of experience in the medical and insurance field. My career began working with PGBA (Tricare), and I later transitioned into medical office settings where I served as an Orthopedic Assistant, Podiatry Assistant, and Chiropractic Assistant. In these roles, I gained extensive hands-on clinical and administrative experience, including patient support, pre-authorizations, billing, and insurance coordination. More recently, I served as Co-Manager of a large group therapy practice based in New York City, where I supported a wide range of operational and administrative functions.
Throughout my career, I have developed a strong specialization in medical billing and insurance follow-up. I have worked in nearly every aspect of a medical office, but my favorite area has always been billing—particularly problem-solving claim issues and ensuring insurance companies process payments accurately and appropriately. I enjoy digging into the details and resolving the issues that help practices stay financially healthy and running smoothly.
While I value patient interaction, I am especially passionate about the behind-the-scenes work that keeps a practice operating efficiently. There is something very satisfying about identifying and resolving billing and insurance challenges so providers can focus on their clients without added administrative stress.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors with our dogs, especially trips to the nearby lake when the weather allows. I also enjoy reading and writing fiction in my free time, and I have recently started playing Dungeons & Dragons with friends and my two adult daughters. It’s a fun and creative outlet that I really look forward to each week.
